Hi, been here for a while but first is my first post. I often see the U2s going into and out of Fairford and I'm looking for more info on the bomber deployments - but need more posts to access that!

Welcome. Once you get established it’ll be good to get more information on the Fairford movements.

Thanks, but I'm not sure I'll be able to add much more to what's already being posted.

Plenty of scope to contribute some images to the photo pages like Current Military Photography and Airshow & Event Photography assuming you take photos too.

Hi. Paul here. Currently spending a week in the Mach loop where many of the more experienced hands have recommended this forum as one of the core sources of information so here I am. Looking forward to sharing info with you. Regards. Paul

Mike, yes. Currently getting to grips with new (to me) camera. Too many menus - I think I would have preferred my old Zenith (remember them?)!

Sure do but I didn't have one myself. I had a Chinon fully manual body with M42 screw mount.

My right shoulder has never recovered fully from the years of using a Zenit Photosniper :Wow:

Ah, now my memory’s fading - it was Zenit, not Zenith then? And what was a Photosniper? I don’t remember that from my trusty Polysales catalogue.

If my memory serves me well (as the song goes) the kit was a Zenit E body, 300mm lens, 58mm lens, shoulder-mounted rifle grip and a few extras, all packed in a metal case ;)

I remember those 😁. There used to be adverts for the set up in a magazine, might have been Amateur Photographer.

Crikey, the armed police would be out if they saw you with that nowadays. Photosniper is very apt.
