Does anyone know the significance of the different nose art that some of the USAF jets seem to return with from deployment?
See that recently the bolars returned with impressive greek mythology nose art on the F-15s. Is related to the missions they have been or location they were deployed to or just random?
Many thanks

Re: Nose Art Question?
I don't suppose there is any significance that we will be aware of - in the past they have used American comic culture characters or wrestlers etc
I always assumed the crew chiefs decided what the theme is or maybe one jet is painted and the theme spreads ?
The 'tone' of the artwork has become less gung-ho in recent years

Re: Nose Art Question?
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. They look really good and some talented painting behind them. Always enjoy seeing what they come up. Hopefully I manage to capture some of the recent greek mythology art at the mach loop soon before they disappear.
