Strobing
Re: Strobing
If I can't see the physical outline of the aircraft then no, I won't claim it.

Re: Strobing
Ah - then you must also consider aircraft stored in bags, wheels beneath hangar doors and the tip of a tailfin behind a building...Rampage 3 wrote:Hello,
This is obviously for Number Cruchers, but i was wondering if most people do.
If you were to say see 3 M-28s going over your house (which i missed last night![]()

) and saw them strobing nicely, would you log their serials, or not count them?
thanks in advance

Re: Strobing
For me, the rules are simple, if you can see something through normal or improved optics (Binoculars/telescope/etc. are just making your eyes zoom in for all intent and purposes!), then it's countable.
If it's noise and lights, it's not.
It's it's an outline of an aircraft but you can't see the airframe itself, it's not.
If it's 100% covered in spraylat, it's not.
So goeth on the argument.

That's different, but I'm temptedStuBie wrote:Night Vision scope next on your shopping list then Chris?

Re: Strobing
Personally I have to see the majority of the airframe but as serial crunching is only something personal, remember, the only person you cheat is yourself!

Re: Strobing
In daylight, as long as I've seen the cockpit area, or the area where the serial is written, I'm happy.
I wouldn't claim something bagged or on TV.

Re: Strobing
I know, where does it end? Buy a video of russian aircraft and bag loads? Watch stuff on discovery? Buys magazines? I think physically seeing it needs to be a minimum requirement!GOOSE wrote:In daylight, as long as I've seen the cockpit area, or the area where the serial is written, I'm happy.
