Welcome Jamie, please don't hesitate to get involved. I was about 13 when I really got interested in aviation, so much so I joined the ATC too. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Hi Jamie,

Welcome aboard!

Glad to hear you are in the ATC - I joined at about 13 as well, and have just left - loved every minute!

Hi Jamie! Great to see another one of the 'next generation' joining Fighter Control, I was around your age when I joined the ATC too. Been interested in aviation from a very young age, and got into the photography side of it a few years back. 16 now and really enjoying it!

Welcome to the forum

Welcome aboard Jamie,my youngest son has the same name (he's 23 now !) - both himself and his brother were given short names that couldn't be made shorter but everyone calls him "Jay" now so that idea didn't really work at all.

I joined the cadets when I was 13 or 14 and before I knew it I was being thrown about doing aerobatics in the RAF's most sophisticated trainer - the mighty Chipmunk,it must be so much better now with the instructor and trainee sat side-by-side in a modern cockpit.

Have a good look around all the different sections we have on FC and if you have any queries then don't be frightened to ask any questions. :thumb:

Back in the day when I was a Cadet I stayed on base for the Mildenhall air fete (probably the last one) which was cool. Managed to have a look around a fair few aircraft just by asking the crew and they seemed happy enough to show us around. I remember having a tour of the B-1B but then being refused the B-52 due to the electronic warfare station was off limits, this was pre 9/11 but I don't think that changed things much. Just a shame I didn't get into the photography side of things back then. Can't beat a good old American breakfast though :D
BECAUSE TYPING IN LOWER CASE WOULD BE EASY.............
