Hi Gary,

I believe the Hawk T2 has an upgraded version of the Hawk T1's engine, the Rolls-Royce Adour. The Typhoon is powered by the Eurojet EJ200 engine.

I don't think there are any plans for the Reds to get the new Hawk's are present (there just aren't enough of them!)

Cheers
Steve

Hello Team ZJ

I'm sure you'll find lots of interesting stuff from some very knowledgeable people on FC you'll enjoy about all types of aeroplanes !

The BAE Systems Hawk 100 series demonstrator ZJ100 is due to fly again soon on trials at Warton.
The RAF T.Mk.1 is powered by the original Mk.151 engine, and the Red Arrows a/c have the control system tuned to make it more responsive. The aircraft have had progresive development in airframe, engines and systems leading up to the Mk.128 = the RAF T.Mk.2 with the Adour Mk.951 - it doesn't have an afterburner.

BAE Systems run an apprenticeships for Engineers based at their main sites and a scheme for Fitters at various colleges (including Lincoln and Peterborough) which uses the training school set up at Finningley using a couple of Mk.53 airframes.

A carbon wing and bigger donk aren't the Hawk mods that will be pushed for TX. I've read this carefully and you seem to be fishing. Why don't youcontact BAE Systems direct and ask them why they have resurrected the jet.

Surely you'd know the number "Gary", seeing as how you have an @baesystems email address?

Not offended in the slightest. Although I'm sure it was Randolph AFB that we left you waiting to taxi the jet!!
