Hi cat1

Welcome to the forum... Its a great place full of friendly people with a vast knowledge of all things aviation... from spotting, serials, photography and much more.

I use the old Yupi 7100 scanner which is quite dated now but I'm sure the guys on here will be able to point you in the right direction ref Scanners and the Lens question you have.

Regards.

Hi Cat1 :P

Welcome aboard the friendly aviation forum

Like Tim, I am a Yuppy Luddite who has a 7100 and a 9000 to boot

For not much more than £100 you can buy what is perceived by many to be the ‘go to’ scanner, the Uniden Bearcat UBC125XLT :thumb:

Have fun, and as Tim says, there are some great people with loads of intel on FC :)

😷

Greetings cat1 on a very rainy day. Advice is a wonderful thing. Read/listen many times before spending and ignore what doesn’t make sense to your particular part of the hobby.

I reckon that most makes cameras sold today give very good results for hobbyists. Lenses are the key, so buy the best affordable and stick to that brand. Upgrade the body after much practice. Buy second lens well after practicing with the first if you really need to.
Buy a lotto ticket.
