Flight tracker

Post by jackreacher » Sun Oct 10, 2021 9:06 pm

Hi

Looking for a bit of advice as to which of the various flight tracking sites would be the best to follow military flights please?

Thanks!

ADSBexchange is the best free tracker (in my opinion,) just load it up an click the U on the top right to show mil.

Others seem to swear by 360radar but it costs and shows nothing more, in fact I was tracking the C-5 out of EGVA the other week and it showed on the ground on ADSB and not until completely up on 360.

The only tracker capable of tracking the 'hidden' stuff is planeplotter, a little more on the technical side though, I'm sure someone on here can help you with that as the PP minions frequent the forum.

Why do you need a Windows laptop to open a webpage?

EGVP. I’d read the desktop version had better functionality, but doing a bit more digging it seems the web version is pretty much the same if you don’t want to provide a feed?

They're the same regardless, I don't think ADS-B Exchange give you any (map-based) perks for sharing data.

I contribute to 360Radar and therefore it is free to me. I find it better for low level stuff and it will have Mode A only tracking capability in the near future which will be very useful

Any idea when the Mode-A aircraft will be Available to normal users? Just brought 360 so I’m hoping for it soon! Great work though

Hey everyone, I'm new to that forum, too and I'm using adsb exchange as app which I purchased. In combination with FR24 there are most of the flights trackable. It's the first time I read something about planeplotter, might be an alternative to me

ADS-B Exchange is free, and it's not an app. Whatever you've bought I'd strongly recommend getting a refund.

I'm a massive fan of 360radar and it's definitely worth the £19.99 a year and is a website not app but onlt covers the UK and parts of the EU and a bit further east. I also use ADS-B Exchange as well which gives more global coverage and has a basic free use and paid part too.
