B1 deployment

Post by bitberg » Sat Oct 16, 2021 4:02 pm

should have added to my last - I can't as yet access the Fairford B1 forum, so I'll ask here; I'm planning on visiting down there this week, are they likely to still be around does anyone know?

They should be there next week. You need 5 posts to access the Bomber deployment section, so only 2 to go :thumb:

They were looking good yesterday evening - all lit up in the mist as I drove home past 09

Hi new to Fighter Control, hoping to get to Fairford again this week. Maybe a trip to Lakenheath also. Any ideas on the best day for Lakenheath as its a long trip

Hi Rummy. Most week days are very good for Lakenheath, just make sure you check it’s not a US bank holiday and there are no specific notams (which good people normally post on the Lakenheath page on here). Otherwise as you say you are travelling far I would probably avoid Fridays, as they tend to shut down at Lunchtime, but then again they tend to do unrestricted climbs on Fridays, so probably worth the drive just for that!

Hi, I’m fairly new here, so sorry if this is a stupid question, but any idea when the B1’s will be heading back to the USA?

Rumours are the deployment ends soon but no news on when they might leave, hoping to get there one more time before they go.
