I too live locally. I don’t do much photography these days but when I did, I went out to Ladybower a few times. Apart from special events (Dambuster anniversary flypasts, Canadian Lanc fly through), it was always very hit and miss (mainly miss). As far as I know, there’s no way of telling when it will be active. It was never as busy as Wales or the Lakes, probably even less so now. Sorry to be negative. Hope you strike lucky.

Welcome to you both... not a lot that way I believe these days except for the specials events as you mentioned ... mostly Wales and the Lakes for Low Fly these days.

Enjoy the forum guys.

Hey, I also live not too far from the Peak District. I believe it is usually a quiet low fly area, but there have been some Typhoons through in the earlier part of this year. As you said, you also get C-130's & A400m's from time to time. From what I've heard, it is quiet most of the time due to it's close proximity to Manchester Airport. A lot of commercial aircraft fly over that area on their way into Manchester.
