Hey everyone

As a frequent visitor to many low fly structures, can anyone explain why the RAF seem to only do one pass and as in the Lake District one route? The USAF seem to do more. Maybe this is down to budgets. Any explanations will be most welcome.

The passes have to be part of the training mission. They don't showboat like the Americans

RAF tends to be pretty calculated in Low flying, helps keep good data on airframe health and as stated, pilot training. The RAF apparently use simulators and ground based teaching aids much more than the US.

The US tends to spare no expense on defence so they couldn't care less re fuel cost or airframe stress etc.

The UK on the other hand, watch the budgets pretty carefully, hence the discrepancy of actual low level flying.
