So I have been an aviation buff for as long as I can remember, was fortunate enough to have worked as a firefighter in the MOD, mainly rotary wing cover but also fire cover at air shows back in the 90s and early 2000s.
Have an avid interest in WW2 fighter aircraft and a bit of an ameteur Battle of Britain historian! Currently studying the progression of USN and USMC fighter aircraft and tactics in the pacific theater of operations. From the wildcat, and the 'thatch weav maneuver, adopted to counter the attacking Zeros.
I do get to visit Lakenheath and the hall on occasions, have yet to get up to Coningsby! I have been told there are some nice places to stay at Tattershall.
At the ripe age of 51 I'm a class 2 HGV driver and loving it!
