I'm afraid I have to agree with DonBonzo there. I too have the 100-400 and tried a x2 on it, with the same results, too dark/blurred for my liking , mind you it was hand held !
I think it's best to stick with the 100-400 and just concentrate on getting pin sharp picks and then chimp them in a bit via your edditing suite.
