It is near Dolgellau, the area known as CAD West and East is on the A487 and takes it's name from the mountain Cader Idris. The Bwlch is on the A470 near by (if you look at google maps and search for "Cross Foxes Inn, Dolgellau you will see the junction between the 2 locations. There is parking near both locations. I prefer Cad as you get more passes. To get to Cad, if coming from the Cross Foxes Inn direction keep going along the A487 and you will go up a slight incline (where the hillside closes into itself, just on the right is a lay by for parking. Park here, if visiting CAD, the side of the road you are on is Cad West, you just need to walk up the hillside to a suitable height, you will normally see others up there. Cad East is on the other side of the road. I like the Cad locations as you get aircraft coming in from the directions of Dolgellau on the left, the Bwlch on the right and Bala straight ahead.

If wanting to visit the Blwch, then from the Cross Foxes, follow the A470 as it goes up the mountain side and at the top is a small car park. You then walk up the hillside to a suitable height. Again you should see a few others there for the same reason as your visit.

Edited to add - Found this website which gives you a visual example of the above :) http://www.lowflymedia.com/info/mach_lo ... loop.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
