Hi All
I have only relatively recently started to become interested in aircraft of all types and aviation in general. It all started on September 26th 2010 at Baginton Airport when I went there specifically to see the Vulcan. Since then my interest has grown to cover pretty much everything that flies. Up till then I had only ever given aircraft an upwards glance, really dont know why as I have know realised I have missed out on so much, even more so when my best mate since school, who I have known since 1985 and joined the RAF in 1988, has lived on bases such as Laarbruch, Lynham, Brize Norton, Catterick, Scampton and Ramstein among others. Rather annoyingly I have been to all of these on numerous occasions but never bothered with the planes, its was always the bar!
Back to now and its time I made the most of my new found interest. Main areas of interest to me are big planes, cargo, biz jets, old props and millitary, (I have also joined Civilian Aviation this week). Living under the flightpath of Birmingham and less than 10 minutes from Baginton puts me in a good location to see a good variety of aircraft, albeit mostly civilian. I'm planning to go down to Brize in the near future to catch some VC10's while I can.
I mainly take videos with mixed results, due the dreaded auto focus issue, and a few stills, which the video camera also does. Obviously not as good as an SLR but they will do for now.
cheers
Shane
