I think your right about the LORAN "towel rail" on the 66-8xxx
but I think I read after being delivered to EGUL '48th that was
removed and put back on only when moved out to EDAD SP for
23rdTFS (Bl) Hawks 'before my time I started late 1975'
The 480thTFS was one of three new TFS stood up in Europe the
other two ,one at HR and the other RS both with the F-4E's after
the FY74 started to appear with TISEO equiped F-4E's at CR HR
and RS
That ended up being a problem when the F-15's started to arrive
in europe with both 74-0 and 74-1 both ending up together at RS
and then SP as AF74-65x like the AF69-( )263 problem.

Re: 81ST TFW F-4D QUESTION
No I saw that one at Andrews Open House in 1984 and before that at Bentwaters in May 1971 when it was a BR. I won't take your moneyWolf51 Flt wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 10:21 amPaul
I bet you saw 66-7509 at Nellis as well, after our chat about that a few years ago

Re: 81ST TFW F-4D QUESTION
Just spotted this. 66-7750 was not with the 81st TFW. Let me know if you need anything else clarified. It’s very much my thing.
