Mildenhall 20.04.1992

Post by Everett1285 » Sun Feb 13, 2022 8:39 pm

Hi,
Bit of a long shot, but can anyone please help with the following:- I've just recommenced trying to make sense of several entries made into a very old, tatty and water marked log book and one entry refers to a visit to Mildenhall on the 20th April 1992. I've managed to clear up all the KC-135A/Q/R, RC-135U/W AND KC-10A entries but having a few problems with the C-130 TDY ramp entries. Out of 5 aircraft parked up on the ramp that day I have identified 63-7890, 68-10940 and 70-1261 all 317 AW but I am having problems identifying the other 2 logged as 01286 & 40490 which don't seem to be C-130 serials. I'm not sure if it's my eyesight, a case of the dreaded mispole or the watermark damage causing a misread. I have also a C-141B and a Bae 125 noted down for that day with no serial logged. Any help would be most appreciated.

Many thanks

No record in 'BAR' for the BAe 125 on that date.

C-141Bs noted on 20/4 were 66-0163 (437th AW) and 66-0126 (438th AW). However, it could have been an a/c that arrived on 19/4 and which possibly stopped overnight. Those noted as arriving on 19/4 were 64-0628 (438th AW) and (65-0235 (62nd AW).

From the list of Brave Sqn C-130Es there is 70-1266, 64-0496 and 64-0498, so '01286' and '40490' could have been mispoles.

SEAR have N98 C-29A(HS-125) FAA visiting on 20th.

Nothing else close for the C-130's, I would agree with Mustang5861 that they are probably mispoles.
