I’m guessing this will be difficult, being from so long ago, but I’ll ask anyway, if anyone likes a challenge!
During a family holiday back in 1981, I remember being sat on the beach near Chivenor when four Buccaneers flew past very low, possibly an airfield attack exercise? I don’t know the exact date but it would have been in July or August 1981.
I can remember there was the RAF’s first Chinook ZA670 on the ground, and still a couple of yellow Whirlwind HAR.10s, plus loads of 2 TWU Hawks.
But does anyone know the serial numbers of those four Buccaneers?

Re: Buccaneers at/over Chivenor 1981
Hi Cyberfox looking back at BAR 1981, ZA670 appears to have visited twice 14.7.81 & 3.8.71 whilst with A&AEE. I can see no record of the Buccaneers in BAR, but someone from the old South West Aviation Group might be able to help. I know its a long shot but worth a try. Phil
Re: Buccaneers at/over Chivenor 1981
Thanks Phil, that’s certainly worth a try. Interesting to find out the dates the Chinook was there. Thinking back that long ago, it may have been a different day to the Chinook, but definitely within a week or so either side of one of those two dates.

I did nave look at BAR for other locations in the south west around those dates (VL, St Mawgan and Brawdy etc) but nothing was noted. Phil
