Bentwaters...mid-seventies

Post by brewerybod » Sat Feb 19, 2011 10:29 pm

A few gaps in my early spotting notes from RAF Bentwaters,

22/08/74 - 1 x F-4E 36th TFW, 1 x F-4D 48th TFW
04/09/74 - 2 x NF-5 Dutch A.F, 2 x G-91T WGAF and an approach by a RF-4C 10th TRW
24/10/74 - 2 x F-104G Dutch A.F, A transport aircraft visited which i had noted as a 'Convair 340 Dutch A.F' which is obversely incorrect (well i was twelve at the time !!)
Approaches were made by 1 x RF-4C 10th TRW and 1 x F-111E 20th TFW
Seen going into nearby RAF Woodbridge this day was 1 x C-54 or C-118 type
28/05/75 - 4 x CF-104 Canadian A.F
13/04/76 - 1 x F-104G Belgian A.F and an approach by 1 x F-4D 48th TFW
02/06/76 - 2 x G-91T WGAF
08/06/76 - 2 x F-4E 32nd TFS (one was 41045/CR), 1 x F-5E 527th TFTAS
18/08/76 - 2 x F-4 WGAF and an approach by 1 x F-111E 20th TFW
01/09/76 - 2 x F-104G West German and approaches by 1 x F-4D 48th TFW and 1 x Phantom FGR.2 23 Squadron
11/07/77 - 1 x 'C-119' or might have been a Noratlas, whatever it was it came in the opposite end of the runway to where i was and parked near the control tower,so all i could see was the top half of it, but it was camoflaged.
An approach was made by 1 x Vulcan
26/10/77 - 2 x F-4C 52nd TFW (one was 37467/SP) ,seen going into nearby RAF Woodbridge was 1 x Draken
15/03/78 - 1 x T-39, 1 x F-5

Any help with these would be much appreciated.

Thanks - Graham
