Socorro NM 2000

Post by eagle driver » Mon Nov 26, 2012 7:24 pm

Back in april-may 2000 whilest on a touchdown bash of south west usa , we took the opportunity to hire a light aircraft to fly over the NMIMT facility at socorro .
With the aid of various magnifing glasses a fair number of the inmates have been identified .
Now the request , does anyone else have in there possesion any photos or information that can id any other of the inmates at this time .
i am sticking to apr-may 2000 as this appears to be about the time that they started clearing the site
Any help is very much appreciated so hopefully we can finally put this place to rest
thankyou in advance
regards .bob

Hi steve i have the usmoos 2000 as well and this is what the log has been based on . chatting with some of the guys on msf ,it appears that there was a updated list published circa 2005 which gives the fates to some of the inmates .
I know that some of the F-84,s appeared in one of the tuscon scrap yards briefly before moving on to pastures new .

I now have been given an updated list dated may 2005 which substansiates a lot of the previously known data plus give,s fates to some of the airframe,s that moved .
In my previous post where i mentioned about F-84,s being noted in tuscon this should be ammended to F-86,s .
these two types now being the main bug bear as in some instances they are piled on top of one another making it impossible to determine exactly what your looking at
