Canadian AF CF-5's Coningsby Sep 74

Post by GTF4J2M » Fri Jul 17, 2020 9:33 am

I noted 10 Canadian AF CF-5's at Coningsby on 10-Sep-74. They were doing a fuel stop after a period in Germany for an NATO exercise. They landed late morning and parked on the dispersals on the east side of the airfield which meant I could not get near them. One was CF-5R 116731 but the rest were unreported. They may have been reported elsewhere in Europe at the time. The colour scheme was wrong for any other airforce at the time.

Thanks in advance for any gen

116728 seems to have been another one. https://www.airfighters.com/photo/18926 ... 19/116728/
Perhaps you can contact the photographer of that one?

Hi. I have 1974 South East Air Reviews sitting on my desk by coincidence. They report 8 Dutch NF-5A at Coningsby 10th Sep for Exercise Crack Force. No mention of any CF-5's. However they report 4 Canadian CF-5A (CF-116) at Lossiemouth 9th September en route to Europe for Exercise Bold Guard - 11726, 11728, 11731 & 11739. Assume these should read 116726 etc. Accompanied by CC-137 13701 and 2 unidentified CC-130.
