18 Squadron Wessex HC.2 at RAF Gutersloh July 1972

I attended RAF Gutersloh in July 1972 as an ATC cadet and almost 50 years later I am putting all my old handwritten logs into an electronic database. I find that I logged (scribbled might be a better description) 14 Wessex of 18 Squadron but some were codes only. I have noted that my list does have some some contradiction with photographs that I have located on the net but that might be down to the dates as I expect code swaps were quite regular. I have XV725 (BA), XR518 (BB), XR501 (BC), XR519 (BD), XV722 (BH), XR521 (BJ), XR507 (BK), XR502 (BL), XR509 (BM), XV724 (BQ), XV728 (BR), XR505 (BS), XV720 (BT). I may have BJ and BK the wrong way round. I have a note that BL was XR512 at a later point in time but my log clearly shows 502 - but might still be my error. The missing serial is for BG. (I noted that BE and BF were in France at the time - I must have seen that written down somewhere whilst visiting 18 Squadron). I didn't subscribe to any magazine in 1972 that regularly reviewed RAF codes so this has been a gap in my records. Perhaps someone has access to old magazines (BARG?) that might assist. Regards, Rob

BARG in December 1972 shows BG as XT676 as ‘seen recently’. It was also BG in the May 1971 issue.
