Bell 212 Leeming 2012

Post by Just passing » Tue Oct 12, 2021 3:21 pm

Does anyone have a serial for the British Army Bell 212 that was at Leeming on 20th March 2012? It's the only time I've seen one this far North. There were at least 3 Apache visiting on that day too. Any serials/information would be much appreciated. MTIA.

From BARG 4/2012

20th

XX405 Gazelle AH.1 665 Sqn “AA577”
ZA704 Chinook HC.2 7 Sqn “Lifter 1” dep 28th
ZH896 Chinook HC.2A 7 Sqn “Lifter 2” dep 28th
ZJ209 Apache AH.1 4 Regt “Camelot 1"
ZJ200 Apache AH.1 4 Regt “Camelot 2”
ZJ186 Apache AH.1 4 Regt “Ogre 1”

No mention of a B.212 visiting the entire month.
I also checked the movements at all the UK fields for the 20th but nothing.
Also checked following month but no additions.

Many thanks for the reply. Frustratingly I got the same result when doing my own digging. It was one of the black scheme ones, but definitely not a DHFS Griffin(B412). Life's like that sometimes!

As a former Flight Operations Manager based at Shawbury, and with regular visitors from Wallop - I can’t say I’ve ever seen one (or a photo) in an all black scheme.
Was it seen in full sun or against the light?
Could it have been “Kermit” (ZJ969) in the all-over John Deere Green paint?

I can't find any photos either, so I suspect it was my error in the first place. Thanks for the feedback.
