Ha,

Recently scanned the 3rd AF one landing at Fairford 1994, but the wingtip is hiding the full serial... but a quick check of Fairford IAT 1994 participants list shows 91-0313 or as the tail says... 91 313rd AF

The serial is also present on the inside of he nose wheel door

Yeah it was the next thing I checked but it's a bit too side on to read the nose wheel door and this is slide film from the 90's - way too noisy to clearly see it.

Glad you are sorted for both.

Paul

Re the 492 FS special, I noted 90-0251 marked 492 FS at Lakenheath on 3rd Feb 1995 and again at Lakenheath on 1st April 1997 with the same marks.

Thanks Rod,
The suggestion of 97-0221 was from an undated photo
Your information has made it more definite
I am glad it turned out to be an early machine
Really grateful for your help
Best regards,
Paul

excuse me for butting in on this posting, but I am finding that I have 4 slides of 91-0313 in the special markings - taken -
04.06.1993 - Lakenheath - Excaliber - 05.07.1993 - Cottesmore - Families Day/Departure - 21.03.1997 - Lakenheath - 28.06.1998 - Waddington - Air Show
the digital images I have are just plain jane marking's

as for 90-0251 this A/c seems to have alluded me as I have it as a logging only

Have just checked to see when I First Logged - 90-0251 and found it was 04.05.1992 - UPDATE - a further check in BARG reveals that this A/c was delivered to the 48thFW - 26.03.1992 - Unmarked

Thanks Weasel
That range of dates helps to confirm that one as well
Very good of you to supply details
Looks like we were all pretty active in the 90's when there were a lot more events to attend
Happy Days
Best regards,
Paul

I found a picture of 90-0251 (I scanned it but I have no exact date. Might be 1993)
Link to it on Flickr here https://www.flickr.com/photos/rodmartin ... ateposted/

yes having started spotting in the year 1966, like many of us older stalwarts have seen many changes in A/c types - Squadrons - numbers being built - the list goes on
and as we hit our early 70's, we see the decline in interest of some, the loss of some but we carry on whilst we can

Thanks again Weazel,
Yes, similar vintage, started 1975/1976
Just re-discovering old notes (neat handwriting) and appreciate a lot more of everything now
Good luck with the hobby and best regards,
Paul
