Thanks Bluerigger1
Re: RTP Hawk Programme
With the final drawdown of the Hawk T1 from Royal Navy service last week and Leeming 100sqn this week how many airframes will be broken for spares or stored for future return to service with Red Arrows ? Guess MOD / BAe know the fatigue index on each airframe. What percentage of parts (if any ?) from a Hawk T1 can be used on T2 ?
Re: RTP Hawk Programme
? RTP ? Which interpretation of this acronym do you mean?

RTP is the acronym for ‘Reduce to Produce.’
First used when the RAF Tornado fleet was being stripped down to create a bigger inventory of spare parts to keep the remainder flying.

Re: RTP Hawk Programme
Thanks Mortz . I managed Reduced to Parts. Donkeys years back I effected the same policy with Triumph GT6s with 6 in various stages of demolition at one stage.
If it keeps the RAFAT going, great

Re: RTP Hawk Programme
Quick update on the RTP Programme,
XX162 and XX205 departed Valley on the back of 4 trucks courtesy of JARTS on 9 August bound for Shawbury.
The next 2 victims are XX157 and XX332 which were brought across the airfield into Gaydon hangar the following day.
XX157 was slated for conversion for RAFAT use but would need more work than was originally envisaged by the planners. So it's the end of the road for what would have been the oldest Hawk in RAF service.

Did they go to Shawbury or a scrapyard?

Don't know where they were heading but they were loaded on civvy curtain sided trucks this time rather than JARTS flat-beds.
Re: RTP Hawk Programme
The two Hawks XX157 and XX332 are up for disposal on the Ramco UK Ltd web site
Re: RTP Hawk Programme
I was at Caernarfon Airworld Aviation Museum yesterday and they are expecting a Hawk from Valley imminently. I guess we will know soon which one it is.
