Re: Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage, contacts etc.
They're actually called Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire (so as not to get confussed with East Kirkby).
The following link shows their involvement with Cockpit-Fest 2011 http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/newsItem.php?id=291" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This was the notes to editors information from the same News Release, which provides more background about this HLF supported project:
Notes for Editors
Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire (AHL) is a unique partnership promoting the extensive aviation experience that is to be found in the county. The partnership has its roots in a steering group initiated in 2004 by North Kesteven District Council (NKDC), which looked at how best to provide an integrated, cohesive marketing and branding approach to aviation heritage. Out of the study came the formation of the Lincolnshire Integrated Aviation Heritage Partnership (LIAHP) which incorporated Lincolnshire County Council, West and East Lindsey District Councils as well as NKDC, Visit Lincolnshire and Business Link, and a wide range of aviation heritage sites across the county.
A bid was submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to help develop the county’s aviation heritage, which included - amongst other things – the provision for a full-time worker to support the sites. This application was unsuccessful, but a second bid, this time for two posts, was approved in 2009.
After a very competitive recruiting process, Phil Bonner was recruited as the Aviation Development Officer (ADO) whilst Dave Harrigan was recruited as the Outreach and Learning Officer (OLO). They took up their appointments early in 2010, which coincided with LIAHP being re-named as Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire.
Their remit is to work with various key sites over the next 3 years, raising the profile of the aviation heritage product in the county, and promoting aviation within the schools and colleges. The sites are varied in their size and the range of exhibits they offer, as you can appreciate as you navigate around the website.
Though there was no direct funding awarded to individual sites, the grant pays for Phil and Dave to work full time on behalf of the sites. They work closely with other agencies such as Renaissance East Midlands to raise the standard within the county, as well as engaging in the Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme (VAQAS) and Places of Interest Quality Assurance Scheme (PIQAS). Administrative support for the two posts is provided by Visit Lincolnshire, which has enabled Dave and Phil to draw on its marketing resources and IT support.

Re: Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage, contacts etc.
As previously posted Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire (AHL) is not the same as the NKDC – although since the demise of Visit Lincolnshire AHL do now have their offices at NKDC in Sleaford.
This article details the recent Aviation Conference held at Hemswell Court http://www.key.aero/view_news.asp?ID=41 ... n=historic" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as you will see there is mention of a year of aviation.
“Delegates were also provided with details of Lincolnshire’s 2012 Year of Aviation; a programme of events that will feature ten (10) themed aviation events and activities across the county next year.”
Also if you check out this link http://www.visitlincolnshire.com/aviation/news" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you will see a series of events mentioned for December this year relating to “Pilot Officer John Magee, the poet pilot who wrote the poem ‘High Flight’.”
I will post more details when I see them!!

Re: Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage, contacts etc.
I understand from the AHL team that following the recent media coverage across the UK that there has been an increased interest in the Magee talk on Saturday 10th December. As a consequence it could be wise for people that are hoping to attend to pre-book rather than wait and pay on the door.
