Cracking display at Clacton today :thumb: .

Conditions were a bit hazy due to a low level sea mist out by the Gunfleet windfarm. This made the visibility from the shore a bit difficult at times, especially when looking to see the smaller aircraft out on the display perimeter, but this was never a problem for XH558 as her size ensured she was never out of view!

Last year at Clacton she ran into display from the East, but this year she ran in from the West. It made a nice change to see her display the other way around. My kids went home happy as 558 had howled to their satisfaction  .

The 2013 Clacton Airshow, was definitely the best show they have ever had here, I couldn't fault it at all

And there's plenty more where that came from!

Previous take-off time of 13.50 now delayed due to weather.

Today's crew: Bill Ramsey, Phill O'Dell, Barry Masefield and Jonathan Lazzari.

Wonder if they'll do Dunsfold or go straight to Dawlish?

Doubtful I'll get any sighting here, so I'll have to make do with the Lancaster again.

Any sightings?

Is the weather bad at Dunsfold?

Considering the weather I think the crew have done well to get her airborne.

P.S. Off Topic I know but I can't get on the VTTS forum since the software upgrade and no amount of requests for a password reset to be emailed to me is working. Is anyone else having this problem ? Can someone please also confirm my username on the VTTS forum if you are a member. I am sure it is 'Prometheus' on there.

Yeah it's been poor wx in SE, but here and SW are fine so Dawlish should still be on.

I know several display aircraft have cancelled at Dunsfold due to the weather.

The RAF Tucanos were holding to see if the weather cleared and I believe the Typhoon cancelled.

Yeah the Tiffie took off from Hurn this morning for Dunsfold but couldn't display and came back.

Anyone know where he Vulcan is? Not having much luck with that FR24 thing.

Edit: Approaching Oxford according to twitter.

There was a mention of Dorset but Farnborough said Vulcan transmission was broken and advise they contact Bristol or somewhere else but I can't remember where the somewhere else was.

Hmmm, the Reds have just made it through to Dunsfold and landed, but perhaps it's too poor vis to display the Vulcan?

Maybe but I don't know what order she is meant to display in, it's possible it could be Dawlish then Dunsfold.

They're heading to Dawlish according to twitter. The BBMF just took off from Hurn and are headed that way too.
