Re: Rolls... Real or Fake?
I think that the only rolls the CAA are likely to find, are Cadbury's mini rolls in the crew's tea room .

Nothing more than someone wanting to live the dream. Funny how no-one saw this alleged manoeuvre.

Re: Rolls... Real or Fake?
They did. As I stated, there were numerous eyewitness reports on Twitter on the day it happened, which was October 4th, the day of the last public display at Old Warden. Photo sequences started appearing online the same night, but were quickly removed. I've seen at least two other sequences prior to the ones linked in this thread.Sylar wrote:Funny how no-one saw this alleged manoeuvre.
It hasn't been made up on the spot by someone - it was seen by several people and there are other images around. The CAA are investigating, and VTST stopped naming the crews after this incident.
There's no smoke without fire, as they say.

Re: Rolls... Real or Fake?
It's true. It did roll twice. It was being flown by Messrs E. Presley and M. Jackson and was en-route to Moon base Alpha.

The Beano (a tabloid) surely The Eagle ( a broadsheet )would be more appropriate

I graduated eventually from the Beano to the Eagle, loved Dan Dare and that green thing that sat in a saucer (the Mekon?) also the cut aways they used to have as a centre spread. The Beano (a tabloid) surely The Eagle ( a broadsheet )would be more appropriate

Re: Rolls... Real or Fake?
even Dan Dare had his OIK ( Digby) and the Mekon turned into Davros in a later reincarnation I believe

I do hope the CAA will be sending the bill for the investigation to the person who's clearly stitched this sequence together.
With the attention that the Vulcan has been getting in her last year & the Shoreham disaster who in their right mind would have performed anything banned.

Re: Rolls... Real or Fake?
I don't think the Vulcan crew would dare carry out such a manoeuvre, firstly because they are professionals, secondly because they are in charge of an irreplaceable aircraft. The consequences of such actions go without saying!
Someone somewhere has spent a lot of time manipulating some photos of 558, just to create a roll sequence. Yes, there are allegedly three or four sequences taken from different locations, but I can only find one on the web, and any others could have been created by the same person?
Something fishy about this whole scenario!

Captain Scarlet was piloting XH558, and as he rolled her over, a big voice came from the sky...
"This is the voice of the mysterons, we know that you can hear us Earthmen, Scarlet you are a very naughty boy"

The Vulcan WAS rolled at Farnborough although this was NOT 558 and at the time was piloted by ROLY Falk
Re: Rolls... Real or Fake?
And it smashed a load of windows in the factory IMMSC.

& this was before the days of H & S/CAA the same time as aircraft would frequently break the Sound Barrier in front of the crowds as part of the display.one1938 wrote:The Vulcan WAS rolled at Farnborough although this was NOT 558 and at the time was piloted by ROLY Falk
