And the crucial bits are at the end of the article.....

''Gen. Allvin did not provide a timeline for the return of the 48th FW’s F-15Es stateside. However, with both the F-35 squadrons becoming fully operational by the end of 2025, the withdrawal of the F-15E might start as early as next year, if the service decides to go ahead with the plan.''

The last sentence of that article is important "...if the service decides to go ahead with the plan."

This has also been debated elsewhere on thus forum but I cannot recall where, but it did cast doubt on an imminent withdrawal if at all.

Better to read the actual testimony itself, whilst being aware of which senator he was talking to at the time. There’s plenty of doubt still.

I’m well aware, I’m just pointing out that people shouldn’t take these American “plans” at face value, basically I don’t think there’s a need to stress about F-15s leaving lakenheath anytime soon.

Certainly the return of the 48th FW’s F-15Es stateside is an invalid explanation for not attending RIAT imo.
As per the consensus above, neither the idea of a no-show at RIAT or redeployment to CONUS is anywhere near a done deal yet! ;)
