Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
From what I heard, they can now. However it has to be a highly modified routine, so much to the point they said it wasn't worth doing it for a handful of shows.
Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
Straight and level with no aerobatics IIRC. 15 minutes of circuits with a few of them would do me!

Flying display with an F-22?

Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
Would be nice to get some French frontliners, been a while since there was any static, Super Etendards would have been last around 2012?
Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
Belgian A109 calendar being released on the 1st March. Nice to have them back first time since 2018
Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
At Cosford yes, too small for RIAT IMO. Same with the Czech Sokol last year, however great that was too see!

Both looked great from FRIAT

Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
I bet, and as long as FRIAT funds the appearance then its fine by me

Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
There’s only 10 A109s left in Belgian service. The more times they attend RIAT the better in my eyes
Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
Valid point, and there's defo always a place for them in the static, but flying nah. Cosford is much more suitable venue. And flares are an option too!

I wish for.....captured Russian IL76 carrying captured Mi28.
Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
I am Still holding out some hope that SHF might be tempted to spend some time practising a modified display suitable for RIAT. It’s not always about the ££££, sometimes it’s about the kudos for doing it. From what I saw in Jersey a few years back, it wouldn’t take too much of a change to satisfy the CAA.
Forever hopeful.
Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
Indeed it would be superb to see them displaying once again however it's not about the display or the ££££. From memory it's about swept wing ex-military aircraft in a UK flying display (and being foreign registered complicates the issue here). The Jersey CAA are a operate entity from the UK CAA hence the displays in the Channel Islands.FrankTSussex wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 10:13 pmI am Still holding out some hope that SHF might be tempted to spend some time practising a modified display suitable for RIAT. Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
They displayed at Bournemouth a couple of years ago, and that is still in the UK last time I checked. The issue is displays over land with such aircraft.
Cheers
