Ok come then, give us a sensible suggestion. What else do you expect them to do? If announcing it on the commentary isn't sufficient, then how else are they supposed to let you know?beefsteak wrote:Dan213 wrote:If you had listened to the commentary, you would have noted the changes to the display programme. Unfortunately, due to serviceability issues, not all displays can appear as scheduled. What do you expect them to do, take in everyone's programme and exchange it for a new one every time there is a slight change of schedule?beefsteak wrote:Had a cracking few days , loads of good pictures. Highlights for me , A-400, Cj-27 Spartan, Flying Bulls, The Reds , tricky frecolorri ( sic ) F-16 , Meteor was really nice to see, the shock arrival of the Canberra, Friday evenings Spit display in the twilight was really atmospheric.
The lows, shove you pat france up your 4r53, and the swiss for that matter , Jordanian falcons, oh come on , who are they trying to kid, the lack of Russian / American flying, and no Tornado display, the distinct (Seemingly) lack of organisation on the Sunday. (According to the programme the Meteor was due on at 3 (I think) and came screaming through as I was getting lunch (around 12 ish!)) I know Pat France went tech as did the f-16 just after he gave us a mini sonic boom ! but it's no real excuse to be left guessing is it?
And if one is deaf ? Oh that makes it all ok does it ?

Beefsteak, are you saying that you're deaf now as well ?
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2013
I paid for four days entrance & enjoyed all four days. Flying from morning to night, quite happy to watch anything for my first spectator RIAT. I attended RIAT as a volunteer for both RAF Cottesmore events but did not see much of the flying.
My comments are: if you paid an entrance fee, constructive criticism is reasonable; if you do not like the event, don't go again; if you think that you could do better, volunteer.
A note of warning for next year. I plan to go but it is bound to rain! I cannot have fun twice in a row.
A great show, thanks for organising it. I understand that money was made for the Charity too.

Methinks there's an awful lot of armpits in this world who don't fully read and digest posts before going 'off on one' with their stupid inane comments ! !.
My post was full of praise for the show, and I made my comments, as I am entitled to do, re the downsides to it as I saw them , it was my opinion , nobody elses.
And Mike, there's nowhere in my post that I claim to be deaf, just a comment that if one was deaf one wouldn't be able to hear announcements would you ?(As well as what ?)

Not sure we have got that bad!
Most of the banter on here is very tongue in cheek, everyones entitled to their opinions, however a very small minority take offence to the most minor mistakes or think they know better. Thats people and life I am afraid!

Good day to GaryS (& everyone else who reads this thread)
Your input is as valuable as everyone on FC. If there was no alternative viewpoint on any subject we might still be in the Stone Age. For every Wally posting rubbish there is another who agrees with him/her and several who do not.
There are FCers who are quite pleasant when you meet them face to face. I have been fortunate to meet 25 to 30 FCers who have made me smile and have enhanced my enjoyment of mil a/c snapping.
Stick with us and have your say too.
IMO, of course. (As noted above by Darren, gotta go, must wash my hair!) Note mods, is there an iconothingy for tongue in cheek?

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2013
One thing I did forget to mention was a very, very, big thankyou to the ATC controller, who, during arrivals, gave a few "Heads up to the enthusiasts out there" especially when the VC-10 flew in, telling us 'it may be the last chance you get to see one in the air' (via the scanner)

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2013
Sorry mate, have only just read this - I was talking about what that "chap" did to your leg all those years ago and I thought you had a hearing problem because of it.beefsteak wrote:

I meant no offence at all, at least we still own the Falklands because of the likes of you.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2013
And, in hindsight, I could have worded my sarcastic comments a little better too.

We didn't half make a mess of Ewan's malt whisky collection that night.beefsteak wrote:And, in hindsight, I could have worded my sarcastic comments a little better too.

It will come with practice.

Acerbic, perhaps, not sarcastic. Comments please, on a post(card), to DBH.
