Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
I've been doing RIAT since 1976, and, big surprise, things have changed. But then again, so has the world.
Looking at the listings for airshows, there aren't that many now are there? So, my suggestion is to enjoy it whilst you can.
Personally, I've gradually shifted the day I go to Friday. A lot less people around and whilst you may not get all the displays you'd see on weekends, for some of us old people, we have seen them before. As mentioned earlier, bagging the arrivals is pretty good. How many of you have seen an E4 do a touch and go, followed by a tight visual circuit? Very impressive.
As with all things this is just my personal opinion: as the sage once said 'opinions are like rectums, everyone has one'. Please don't take it too seriously folks, there are many more important and urgent things in the world, especially right now.

They have been asked on one of the social media networks if they will do RIAT. The said they have no plans to add any UK dates for 2023.

As per usual, it's my opinion that the Spanish F-18 display trumps the Swiss variety at RIAT... but we all have favourites?

Finnish F18 demo tops them all

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
Those who have seen the Finnish F18 demo will agree on that. For those who haven’t seen the Finns yet, I hope that day will come

Those fitted the theme though of the USAF 75th anniversary. They were telling the story of the USAF over the years which included those aircraft which played a big part in USAF (and USAAF) history.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
Lets start with a big one. why not confirm the F22 team as the opener, that would be excellent. (I can dream)

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
they usually come up with a good one for the first announcement to boost ticket sales.
