U2 will be parked in the green section, which isn't open on Friday. As will the majority of helicopters, the P8 and it looks like all the static f16s.saint1 wrote:U2 only confirmed on static for Sat / Sun, not shown on programme or app for Fri static. It's all a bit odd unless its arriving late Fri or making a surprise landing / taxi during the 4 hr show on Fri !!UKdragon wrote:The U-2 arrival information recently posted is...um...not accurate. I'm sorry that I can't be more specific, but stay alert from now on.
Anyway, for any U-2 fans who haven't yet bought my book DRAGON LADY TODAY, be advised that I am getting ten copies signed by the crews attending RIAT. They will be available for sale from Friday by The Aviation Bookshop at their stand in the red zone eg adjacent to the eastern static line. First come, first served.

Didn't hear about that...should be interestingjasonwells wrote:When a video of a DBH chief being interviewed after watching their display is posted online I fail to see how it can be classified as hot air. You won't get a no, nothing is a no. Ukrainian Air Force is still listed as 'invited', and the only ongoing talks are RNZAF - The flying schedule is full baring in mind...DAVEBRAD wrote:hi,
surprised we've had no update since the 5th july...even a yea or nay about THEM!!!
Disagree completely with that. Another confirmation would not cause that many issues!! What people are trying to understand is, why have all the Ukrainians said they are coming over, but RIAT/DBH are yet to confirm? An update this late of this calibre would not massively pull more people, it will just make those already going much, much happier. I can not see a couple of SU-27's "ruining an airshow"...adimale1981 wrote:Just a question?
Why do they need to update now?
Tickets are sold out (nearly), enclosures sold out. You've committed to going or not by now. Who will they attract by making any more announcements? Just freeloading cheapskates, blocking country lanes as the parking is all filled, being unsafe, potentially ruining the airshow and planning done, especially (God forbid) if there is an accident - like at the weekend where the field at Duxford may well have been full of such people attracted at the last minute by such a tasty announcement.
Rant over.
That's also very true!seven wrote:The flying display may well be full, but it doesn't mean we know everything that's in it!

It's alright, sorry if I snapped - everyone has their own opinionadimale1981 wrote:Sorry! Didn't mean to cause disagreement. I just can't wait to get there.![]()
I love the fact us people attending might not know everything there and there may be little nuggets we don't, especially where so much info is bounding around. Sure either way, it's going to be an awesome year, with great weather (I hope) and no issues.
