FRIAT 2020

Post by Gary » Fri Aug 09, 2019 2:05 pm

Deadline of 16th August for any who hasn't renewed and wants to pay in installments
Dear FRIAT member,

I'm sure many of you are very busy looking through your photos from this year's show. Here at Air Tattoo HQ, I am now starting to work on preparations for the 2020 show.

I would like to remind you that if you wish to pay for FRIAT 2020 by installments, you need to return your form by next Friday (16th August). If you have misplaced your form, you can download one HERE

Once I've processed the early booking forms, all remaining FRIAT tickets will be available to buy via our website.

Don't forget that the FRIAT member's page is still active. The current password is, but it will change in September. Once you've completed your booking, you will receive the new password.

I also want to remind you about our FRIAT merchandise available on our FRIAT member's page. Take a look at our brilliant range which includes a sew-on patch and a fleece HERE.

Kind Regards

Wendy Toms

Order confirmation received for MACH 2 this morning

Quick question - please could someone remind me how the loyalty scheme + discounts work? :S I am sure this year costs the same as last year, but it's the same pass and it'll be my 3rd time at FRIAT in 2020... :S

May not be thinking straight, but any clarity would be great!

Loyalty scheme runs on a three year renewal basis. £10 discount for the first, £20 for the second, £30 for the third so in theory, you should have a £30 discount this year. Unless of course, you missed a year in which you'll have dropped from Gold to Silver. :S

Hmmmm :S My first FRIAT was 2018, second was 2019, 2020 will be 3rd time for FRIAT...So should that be £30? May have to email Wendy again

Edit:

Will have to email and find out as this year's cost for 2 MACH 2 passes is £420, I am sure which is what I paid in 2018 and 2019, looking at previous emails :S

I took a photo of the back of my reservation form at RIAT this year. It says that the 2020 price for a Mach 2 ticket is £230 so if you have a Silver (2-year) discount it will be £210 each(i.e. £20 discount). The discount is based on how many years you have attended (2,in your case -2018 and 2019)

Thank you nitro :) The response I got off Wendy makes sense:
he loyalty scheme works as follows based on renewing each year -

2018 – Full price

2019 – Bronze discount of £10

2020 – Silver discount of £20

2021 – Gold discount of £30

2022 – Gold discount of £30

The FRIAT membership goes up £10 each year which is absorbed by the discount until you reach your 2nd gold year – after this time you will see the increase each year but remain £30 less than the full advertised price.

Should you miss a year at any time then your discount will drop back a level when you re-book the following year.
Didn't know it increased each year!

Hi, I've been to RIAT a couple of times but decided this year to go for it and booked for FRIAT.

What is the etiquette on using long lenses, e.g., how much space is there between seats? I assume no standing or big brollies are allowed.

What are options for drinks and food like breakfast in the FRIAT area? Is there anywhere to charge phones?

There's usually two burger vans, coffee stand , ice cream stall and a bar. Prices the same as outside, £5.50 ish for a bacon bap etc

For the ones on the top row it's ok to stand, everyone else no. The stand tends to empty out when it rains so the hardy ones can and do put up brollies

There wasn't in FRIAT last year that I remember - I bought a 20,000mAh portable charger on Amazon (£35) lasted me the whole weekend with loads spare, best way to do it! :thumb:

I always carry a power pack when travelling or on a long day out. Worth spending a few quid and for the price of a RIAT burger or two

this is my first year doing FRIAT, but traditionally I go to RIAT with a battery pack to charge phones/back up camera batteries on.

One thing I would suggest, if you venture away from the beer  and drink the free water. Take some juice too take the edge of the water. It doesn't taste the best, my mate usually remembers to take one of those Robinson fruit shoots. Much better
