Gutted, but its the right call. I fully expect my local show in June to be cancelled in the next week, as well as Cosford.

Hoping but not getting my hopes up that Duxford in September can salvage something of the season. But it is what it is, more importantly I hope you are all staying safe in these challenging times.

It makes sense for the genuine fans of RIAT to opt for the ticket transfer to 2021. For 2 reasons. 1. You will automatically receive your ticket for next year, protecting you from any price increases. 2.It keeps money in the pot for RIAT to continue working and organising next years show. It is a 2 edged sword and no doubt DBH will have designed it that way with those points in mind.

Cheers

Not sure if to take a refund on a transfer, due to advancing years it was possibly going to be my last visit because of the long day and reasonable long drive. May have to stick it out for next year now.

Thank you for your kind comment, may well stick out for the 50th. I started way back going to Greenham great memories. The first time I went to Greenham was the first time I had ever set eyes on a C-5 Galaxy.

Your welcome... the first time I put pen to note pad as a spotter was at IAT 83 Greenham Common... 25th Anniversary of the F4... can remember them all lined up and my first SR71 and TR1 as they were called then.

Great Times... Great shows... I hope you do stick it out for the 50th, that would quite nice for you.

Best of luck

Regards.

Its funny you should mention the 1983 IAT.I went ferreting through some old stuff today and tucked in the back of one of my master log books was the check list for the very same show, and the notebook I had with me on the day. Todays checklists are £4.00, back then it was 25p !!

I believe 1983 was the first year they did checklists.Probably priced to check if there was any demand.

I've got the checklist for IAT at Greenham Common in 1979, the price was 15p.
This season, I'll be mostly wearing........A THONG!

Checklists are one of the best things about Airshows. Certainly saves pen & paper so you can concentrate more on photography and watching the displays.

It was actually (R)IAT 1991 when I was introduced to the Checklist, had taken a pad of paper to take down serials/ numbers and registrations when we noticed the kiosk selling them from then on at which ever Airshow I was at first thing I went to find was checklist. CHECK!......

Hi John flightpath

Wow a checklist for the 1983 IAT... as I was... what you would call a green horn then as it was my first time spotting... I didn't realise such a thing was available and to be quite honest, I hadn't even thought about one now.

If there is anyway of posting up that list, I would very much appreciate it indeed.

Or If you can scan it... I can pm you my email address.

Would really like to see the list and compare it with my note book.... If I can find it😁

Regards.

Gd morning Tiger. Send me your email, also wondered if you are on whatsapp. I may have to phootgraph it with phone and try that way. Failing that leave me your address and I'll find a way of copying it and sending it over. Whichever works out best, you will end up with a copy of it.

Cheers
John.

All this chat about Greenham Common, anyone remember the shows at North Weald which I think were an earlier incarnation?
