Possible combined airshows

Post by the concerned » Tue Apr 07, 2020 12:01 pm

Do you think with dwindling budgets that a possible merger of RIAT and farnborough into one show would be a possibility. Hold it at Fairford and have the trade show during the week and public weekends

Two very different events, although there is a lot of business carried on at RIAT by some of the major manufacturers in attendance, it is a Air Show. Farnborough is an out and out sales event which had a public display tagged on the end. Riat did some years ago had some trade days and tried turned itself into a Arms Fair but I don't think it was suspenseful.

Aside from the fact that Farnborough has actually dropped the airshow weekend, as of last year.

Alas the 2020 show is already a victim of the current situation
