In preparation for the very real fact that I may never get Monday tickets, does anyone here know if it is worth even trying to catch some take offs from outside the base ? Obviously I wouldn't be expecting to park outside, I would be on foot from somewhere away from Fairford.
I've never done departures day and was so looking forward to it, as they say though . . . . You sleep - you weep !
Most definitely, I suppose with the announcement of the RoKAF that week plus the subsequent announcements with the likes of the Top Aces A4 it's the only opportunity to see them airborne over the week! I hope your search for tickets becomes successful though!

Cheers, the RIAT site has a waiting list that i've joined (it was not allowing me to join the waiting list when I wrote my original post)
I just have to hope someone is crazy enough to give up their Monday tickets !!

I've never bought an advance ticket for departures Monday and have never had a problem getting in or even queuing to get in.
Apart from the RoKAF contingent what else has happened this year for this subject to come up?

Advance tickets have sold out previously but they had a limited amount for sale on the Monday morning but you need to be there early. Cannot remember if it was the last RIAT or the one before I did see people being turned away from P&V West as no more tickets were available.

Nothing yet either for Grandstand or Pimms.

Will we be able to log into our RIAT account on their website to retrieve them if they don't arrive via email?

Enclosure tickets won't be emailed until 2 weeks before the airshow
You will receive a booking confirmation when the order is placed. Your e-ticket will be sent out to you two weeks prior to the show.

If you have booked our Family Enclosure, Viewing Village, Pimms Flight Deck or Cotswold Club upgrades, you will receive an enclosure e-ticket two weeks prior to the airshow, we are no longer sending a pack in the post with your enclosure pass. This e-ticket is your access to the enclosure and will include information relevant to your visit.

Visitors to our Aviation Club, First Class Lounge, 1971 and Lightning Pavilion will receive their enclosure packs with Guest Car Parking in the post near to the show.

Wendy has said she is putting the packs together, when she posted a couple of days ago she was half way through. Once she has finished they will dispatched
Wendy Toms-Friat
I am in the process of packing all the friat passes now - about half way through then all UK passes will be in the post - due to delays with overseas post overseas customers will be sent an e-ticket to use until they can get to the enclosure to collect their passes

Anyone had any joy from any of the waiting lists? I'm down for 2 tickets for the Monday departures but not really expecting any joy and I doubt I will have much luck convincing my dad to be up at the crack of dawn to queue for tickets on the day. Might end up being plan B just abandoning the idea and calling elsewhere on the way back north.
