Couldn’t believe the amount of inconsiderate sods who still think it’s ok to just leave their litter lying 😡. My son & I picked up about a dozen discarded plastic bottles lying around the area with the straw bale seating at the Far East of the airfield. 😡

Once an inconsiderate sod, always an inconsiderate sod! Some people just don't give a flying fig.

As I said elsewhere, I had a massive arguement with some absolute incosiderate git in the Public Grandstand.

He was in the row below me (I was top row) however he was standing the whole time, because of the angle of me being a seat to his left and above he was blocking the entire view from in front of me right down to the BAE hangar. I eventually asked him if he could please sit down and it got rather heated. the conversation went along these lines with him .

Excuse me, could you sit down please? You are blocking my view
Why?
I can't see,
So? YOU go sit down. (Points angerly to my seat)
Sorry, but I am asking YOU to sit down you are blocking the view.

At this point it did get heated.

Then you stand in the isle below if you want a view.
No, I am not standing
Then you give me your seat (top row) and you sit in mine (Yes he had the cheek to tell me to give up my top row grandstand seat)
I paid for this seat, now sit your ass down.

I have actually left out quite a few swear words, for which I did say sorry to those directly around me.

A couple of people did try to ask him to sit down too, one told him "you've been asked to sit down, please sit down" he refused for a few seconds before climbing over to the top row which had an empty seat.

Now, I probably shouldn't have sworn as much, not in front of a lot of people with the words I used to describe him, but at this point he was rude and aggressive, he only cared about photos with his big lens and nothing else. So I stand by my actions, but appologise to anyone who overheard this on the Saturday morning.

They must have announced the water bowser locations a hundred times on the p.a system during the Saturday show. And I would imagine the site maps given out at the show were printed long before the weather extremes were known about
They may have done, I did not hear anything other than them being at the service stations. I was near a service station and there was no bowser.

To be fair they have water bowsers even when the conditions aren’t scorching hot so adding something to the map would be possible and you know, it’s not a bad suggestion.

And to he who commented the cr@p about sunscreen, I had my factor 50 on so…I was okay! Many weren’t though!!

Reminding people to breath, no remind people to be considerate humans.

It was a basic but useful suggestion! If they don’t want to add them to the maps then stick a blue flag up so you can see it’s location from a distance.

Well I can't comment on all the locations but I went to two of the service stations during the day and both had bowsers at the side of them
Cheers

106 frames and 7 scrapes, which I don't think was too bad! Obviously that includes everything from microlights up to C-17s.

I can't imagine many folks needed any of the C-17s that were visible from RIAT this year.. ;)

Was nice too see, but has been before, as has no.3. No.2 seems to be the elusive one.
Just a shame the USAF couldn't spare an airframe or two, spesh considering the themes.

I think I clocked all of the C-5M airframes before I stopped number crunching, but I'd still cream me pants if I saw one, even OTT!!

Great effort by the organisers to attract quite a few interesting foreign visitors.

However, I can imagine they were disappointed by the turn out of the home side this year - fewer than 30 active British military aircraft, plus the Red Arrows. No RAF/RN Lightnings in the static display, which would have been a crowd pleaser, yet the Americans were happy to send one...

Perhaps it's a sign of the times, where commitments mean there's not much spare anymore? Or maybe the budget was blown on the impressive Jubilee flypast?

Once upon a time events like this were seen as hugely powerful recruiting tools, and an awe-inspiring line-up of fighters and bombers would stir the ambitions of many a schoolchild.

We've lost Navy Days due to the bean-counter's budget cuts. It would be sad to think that a similar sort of apathy were to undermine RIAT, a show many people look forward to.
