Arrivals start on the Wednesday so that'll be your earliest.
Technically the static U-2 has already "arrived"

I’ve been to RIAT but never the park and view. Got a Thursday ticket. What’s the format? Do you pop up the camping chairs and stay beside your vehicle or is the viewing away from the car park area? Thanks

From memory back to about 2017, down the western end (I think...09) there was a car park, then the area you go in was fenced off. So queued, through the tent, into the grassed area. Not far to walk at all (Except the queuing)
There was a lot of space, you can take a chair in and pop it wherever, really.

I normally go to the Eastern end.James Reid wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 7:14 amI’ve been to RIAT but never the park and view. Got a Thursday ticket. What’s the format? Do you pop up the camping chairs and stay beside your vehicle or is the viewing away from the car park area? Thanks
Parking is a short walk away, then through security, onto the grass. Plenty of space to put a camping chair.
Coffee and food outlets, and in previous years there has been water to refill your bottle.
Oh, and Loos!!!!
I did West once, similar story, walk possibly a bit shorter.
I will do East (unless they use 09 runway - check RIAT Twitter to get the runway in operation)

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
Alongside the Japanese C-2 Im wondering if the Czech jets may be added as long as they are available. I know they said they would not be able to confirm there attendance until closer to the show and the week before would seem like a reasonable time. Wishful thinking I know but one can hope.

I was thinking the same earlier vulcan but I think the Czech Alca that was confirmed for static the other week was them saying we cannot do the Gripen and Alca displays so here is an Alca for static instead.
I could be totally wrong of course and it would be brilliant if I was as another Gripen and the Alca would be lovely additions to an already outstanding line up.

Not sure if we will know until the program is handed out next Friday
Could be a security thing? They've never had one on static since taking them in (I think 2016, was it? was plastic)

The USMC one in 2016 was a B model. I remember they did have quite a bit security around it but was easy to photograph.
