First up this week, we're pleased to announce the 48th Fighter Wing will be supporting this year's Air Tattoo in style. As well as a Strike Eagle from each squadron, this will be the first time seeing their new Lightnings on static display at RIAT. In addition, we are discussions with a number of other United States Air Force units who hope to participate at RIAT 2022, with the approvals process ongoing.

The Irish Air Corps celebrates their Centenary this year, and to mark the occasion will be sending a fourship display of their Pilatus PC-9M aircraft to perform in the flying display, in a reformation of their Silver Swallows Display Team. We're pleased to welcome them to RAF Fairford, with their participation also very appropriate for our training theme.

Despite the Polish Armed Forces being at extremely high alert and all of their aircraft fleets operating at high intensity, we are honoured that they are still keen to participate at RIAT. They will be sending an M28 Bryza for static display, joining our growing selection of maritime patrol aircraft on static display at the show.

Finally this week, additional civilian operated aircraft join the static displays. Hawker Hunter Aviation will bring their Hunter T72 for its first RIAT appearance and Embraer their Super Tucano for exhibition as a showcase display.

What an excellent update today this show is just getting better and better.

Did someone not say on here long ago I doubt that we will ever see any F-35s on static?

They certainly did, and are glad to be proved wrong.

The Irish Air Corps Silver Swallows is a very nice catch. Their first UK display since 2012 (Under the name Team Silver) and their first outside of the Island of Ireland since 1997.

I wonder if they will use the coloured smoke.

Don't they do that every year, and every year RIAT say they are too expensive?

Yeah, they do. But it's a bit different this year.

RIAT is always on their schedule the minute its released. This time RIAT is added in a schedule updte months after their schedule was released, meaning there is quite possibly discussions with RIAT since it was released.

How often do they just do static?
Splinter camo viggen would be the star of the show for me!

So from looking at the countries still in discussions this is what I think could possibly still arrive either for static or flying.

Canada, C-130, C-17, Chinook, CP-40 Aurora
Croatia, Wings of Storm Krila Oluje, Rafale, Mig-21 but doubt the Mig would come.
Egypt, No idea whatsoever
French Navy, Rafale, ATL2, E-2 Hawkeye
India, Again no idea whatsoever
Italy, Tornado, Typhoon, C-27J Spartan
New Zealand, Boeing 757
Qatar, C-130, C-17
Thailand, No idea yet again
Netherlands, C-130, F-16, Apache
Turkey, Soloturk, Turkish Stars, F-4 Phantom
US Navy, E-6 Mercury, F-18 Super Hornet
USAF, F-15, F-16, CV-22 Osprey, KC-10, KC-135
Zambia, Not got a clue

There are still the self confirmed ones to add to the list like the Chinook and Black Eagles.

If even some of the aircraft i listed arrive that would be a pretty good looking airshow, Anyone got any other ideas?

I often wonder how many times Croatia needs to say it can't afford to send their MiGs anywhere before people stop hoping they'll come to RIAT 😂

Re the Swedish - is it still the case they are not allowed to display over land?

I seem to remember this, but can't find any official documents or similar to see if still applicable.

I remember no fast jet displays, then it got amended to straight wing jets allowed to do simple displays - but finding nothing.
