They may do some kind of Jubilee related announcement, maybe a special flypast or something?

So when do the cones and toilet arrive? 😂

As the Platinum Jubilee celebrations begin, we're pleased to be able to confirm more Royal Air Force aircraft for the static displays at RIAT 2022! We will be welcoming the new Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft to the show for the first time to join the extensive static displays, plus Hercules, Atlas & Typhoons. Weekend visitors will also be treated to a number of flypasts from the F-35B Lightning II.

Continuing our celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, we're delighted that the Royal New Zealand Air Force will be bringing their Boeing 757 to RIAT 2022. Visitors should be prepared to be amazed by the agility of this airliner when it performs in the flying display! Continuing the Platinum Jubilee theme, we're also expecting aircraft from the Royal Canadian Air Force to join our static displays, which will be added to the confirmed aircraft list in the coming weeks once final approvals are in place.

We can now confirm that the iconic U-2 Dragon lady is joining the USAF 75th Anniversary line-up, on static display for all three days of RIAT 2022. Secondly, we'll be welcoming the USAF's newest tanker, the KC-46, for static display for the first time at the Air Tattoo. We continue work with our friends across the United States Air Force to see how we can celebrate their 75th Anniversary in the air at RIAT 2022, with more news expected soon...

The Air Operations Department were over the moon to receive confirmation from Top Aces, who will be sending one of their legendary A-4 Skyhawks for static display! This participation is very appropriate as part of our 'Training the Next Generation Air Force' theme at RIAT 2022, which includes the use of Red-Air contractor aircraft to provide threat replication for modern aircrew training.

Finally this week, in a change to previously announced plans, the Royal Navy Wildcat will now be on static display at RIAT 2022, and not performing in the flying display programme.

So looks like DBH are trying to get USAF acts in the flying display from reading today's announcement.

They could still arrive on the Thursday it just means they won't be on static display on the Friday as obviously they will be down the green end.

That's true as has happened in the past, I prefer them arriving on Wednesday and Thursday as I usually miss them arriving on the Friday as busy going around the sites and stalls.

The F-35 only looks to be doing flypasts opposed to a display.
Weekend visitors will also be treated to a number of flypasts from the F-35B Lightning II.
Still nice nonetheless. :thumb:

In 1977 at Greenham we had three Royal Australian Navy A-4G's, last appearance at what was then just an IAT.

Apologies if this isn’t in the right place, plan of doing RIAT wed’s to Monday this year, plan on doing Thursday for arrivals, fri and sat at the show and Sunday (this is the bit I need help on) I wanted some shots from a different perspective, now in the many years I have been going I have noticed the hills that lie behind the flight line, can you access any of these on the Sunday (road closures etc considered) or is it possible for one of the. Immunity to give me some advice on where I can go to go a different perspective of the flying display ??

Thanks in advance

Guess I could be from the Community? 'burnsy133' you don't state your method of transport or start/finish location? Assuming you know (or can find) the RAF Fairford Main Gate the previous options have been...
a) Drive NW. up Horcott Rd for 730 metres. Turn left into Totterdown Lane & follow the signs for Totterdown Hill Campsite which is 1200 metres since you initially turned left & involves a second left turn up the hill to the location.
b) Walk NW. up Horcott Rd for 400 metres. Turn left into an unmade track passing some barns. continue SW. for a further 680 metres to arrive at the same location.
Clearly there are one-way road systems alternating throughout the day. Best bet is to go early & leave laterish! Totterdown Capacity can be reached quite early-on for 'Day Visitors'...but there's usually space for a little one somewhere!! HTH matey. :)

Well as answers go I couldn’t really ask for more, thank you very much.
