FRIAT 2023 prices

Post by Gary » Thu Jun 30, 2022 7:18 pm

Just received the following
FRIAT Update – Booking for 2023

Dear FRIAT Member,

After a long wait, we’re thrilled that The Royal International Air Tattoo is now just around the corner.

Since our last airshow, we’ve conducted a thorough review of FRIAT bookings, and we’re delighted that 70 per cent of you will be joining us for all six days this year.

Due to the decline in demand for the shorter visits, we’ll be moving away from the current membership packages and inviting all attendees for six days. Our new four-level pricing plan for 2023 is in line with the Mach 1-3 pricing proposals but without the attendance restrictions.

With this streamlined approach, all attendees will be invited for six days with the price being dependent on your seat. Your seat will now be allocated at the time of completing your booking:

Band A – £375
Band B – £350
Band C – £325
Band D – £300
Any FRIAT loyalty discount that you have earned will be applied to your bookings regardless of your choice of band.

Each ticket will grant you access to the Park and View facility on Wednesday whilst also confirming your seat in the Grandstand from Thursday through to Monday.

Your early booking form will be available on Thursday 14th July 2022, complete with information on order processing. Your seat for 2023 will be allocated and you will be charged at the time of booking.

All orders placed at the show will be processed and seats allocated before FRIAT tickets go on sale to the general public.

Our changes reflect what’s happened over the last 3 years and take into account your incredible feedback to make FRIAT more reflective of what you, the members, have told us you want.

We look forward to seeing you in a few days, and for many years to come.

Seems a big increase. Then again I can't remember how much it was when I renewed at the 2019 show. Could give a indication what prices will be in general. Still good value for 6 days. I paid £251 to see Guns N’ Roses tomorrow night

An explanation of what the different bands represent might be helpful

I thought that too. The higher you are in the grandstand the more you pay? Happens in reverse most concerts or sporting events

Interesting, this year has cost me £364. Thats Friday and Saturday entry with grandstand and Sunday entry with Pimms enclosure, as well as 3 days shuttle bus.

I had thought about doing FRIAT next year so it might work out cheaper. Though I will only be able to do Friday, Saturday and Sunday as there is no shuttlebus on the other days so feel like I'd be missing out.

UKAR in meltdown over this.
2023 would have been my 40th consecutive year as a FRIAT member, I suspect it won’t be.

It is good reading, the fear of missing out will make most of them do FRIAT 2023. Once the shock has worn off.

Some questions from that email

1. The whole band thing, new people willing to pay the highest amount will get priority over gold status member. Who can’t afford the amount at the time ?
2. How much discount will be applied

Don’t envy being Wendy tomorrow morning

Can't understand that to be honest...just pushes away people that like the flexibility of doing a few days and not all of it :S be interested to see how it pans out. Price rises expected, but only the choice of 6 days?!

Good point James. As a now retired teacher there were many years when I could only do the weekend soMach 1 suited me fine. While £300 for six days sounds good at £50 a day the cost of accommodation is now astronomical, my usual place raised their prices by 100% this year.

Well yeah that too - this year for 2 nights 2 adults in Premier Inn is £292. So that could be say...£500 for 5 nights, and £300 for the lowest band...for Dad and myself is £1,100!! Before buying food, merchandise and fuel :(

Yes, F1 GP event levels of outlay but this has been the case for a while for good access.

🇺🇦 🌻 🇺🇦

Sadly that will reduce the number of FRIAT members.

  :thumb: 1630hrs, just been overflown by the Reds. 5+4. At about 250’ heading more or less down the extended centreline of Cottesmore 22.

My wife is claiming that as I have just finished six hours of gardening, she arranged the event as a thank you.

I look forward to only the Saturday & Sunday next year.

Cheers, unFRIAT member.

Love the Red Arrows of course. 😉

Thought there might have been some comment on FRIAT Members Area but nothing-just total silence.

My usual accomodation has gone way up too & with petrol the way it is at £10 a gallon it's gonna cost around £150 for petrol and sadly now I'm out of work & suffering a foot injury im going to cancel and just do 1 day if I can drive ! 🙄😊

Blackcat1, you’ve always come across as a decent person.

I wish I was in a position where I could pick you up and take you to Fairford so you can enjoy what you’ve forked out for.

Hope everything works out for you, take care.

Oh sorry mate I hadn't booked FRIAT I was just agreeing with the price of local accomodation. Sorry didn't mean to give the wrong impression. But thanks for that 😊
