When are they going to allow crowds to watch Cricket or Golf or even football or even motosports,to be honest I cannot see it going ahead.

is it possible that it will become a "park and view" event, from the sanctity of your car

Some motor sport events have been going ahead with reduced crowds, but not top tier.
So British Touring Cars and Super Bikes is a no go, but GT and club racing is.

I can't see it going ahead, unless there are 2m boxes for people/families to stand in, everyone will just congregate at the front as normal.

Hope I'm wrong for those that are hoping to go!

I also hope you are wrong because that could be the only airshow I'll get to this year

Update to the covid measures
What has changed?

In line with the latest government advice, we have updated our social distancing measures including:

We strongly encourage visitors to wear a face mask at all times in congested areas, but it is mandatory to wear a face mask in indoor spaces or covered areas including marquees, hangars and exhibitions

Staff and markings across the site will reinforce 2m social distancing, enabling visitors to keep safely apart

We will have designated Social Distancing Supervisors with teams of Social Distancing Champions across the site, all easily recognisable in Orange IWM Duxford T-shirts reinforcing social distancing measures and assisting with help and advice

NHS track and trace will be in place, please ensure your booking email is your primary email address and you check it regularly. Your contact details will be stored up to 21 days after the event.

All suppliers and entertainers onsite have their own Covid-19 risk assessment plan in place to support IWM in keeping you safe on site. This includes temperature checks for catering staff.

Other key changes, though there are many
There will be social distancing markers across the site including ticket scanning and entry points
There will be additional entry points to the site, with more staff to support safe entry onto the showground

We have created more space to enable safer social distancing onsite by opening the Tank Bank and moving the fence line at the eastern end of the site

During the air show, staff will be visible across the airfield, using the 2m markers to provide visual representation of a safe 2m distance, to which visitors will be required to adhere to. Our Social Distancing Supervisors and Champions will work closely with Security, and any visitors deemed to be not complying could be removed.

Social distancing is required in hangars, exhibitions and halls to manage the flow of visitors within inside spaces. Where we cannot guarantee a safe route around our museum, or enough space on the showground to ensure social distancing, we will close the offer. For this reason, hangars 2 and 5 will not be open to visitors on the day.

Duxford have just put this out, I'm thinking along similar lines to Goose, not looking good!

Dear all,
We appreciate that many of you have expressed concerns following the latest government advice on social gatherings. Please be assured that we are in communication with the relevant authorities to understand how the latest announcement will impact the Duxford Battle of Britain Proms and the Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show.
Our expectation at present is that these are able to go ahead but as soon as we have all the information we will update you via our social media channels and website so we ask that you continue to check these so you can keep up to date with the latest news.
We would like to thank you for your continued support during this unpredictable time
Mike

Duxford could still be exempt via Charitable and Educational as it currently is. However, my main concern is if it goes ahead, the media will crucify Duxford.

Another problem not often raised is the possible transfer of infection from one part of the country to another. Example one car load of four symptomatic people travel from Bolton (other infected areas are available) and the whole R-rate graph goes into overdrive and two dozen infected return to their respective home towns. By the time alarm bells start ringing the whole virus thing is popping up all over the country again.

The only sporting event was going to be some horse raceing at Doncastor race course. 2000 people was the limit,
but after the new rules annouced yesterday it was cancelled, due to crowd size.
So Duxford with 10.000 is very unlikely.

Ticket sales MAY have been suspended. It is giving an error on the page
"Unfortunately your session may have timed out, or an error has occurred. Please use the button below and restart your booking."
However, it was also giving this yesterday at times when they added some Gold tickets to Saturday and Sunday

I've just tried booking tickets (as a test. I already have mine} and I could access it fine. Only got time out error message when accessing gold tickets.
So I don't think it's a reason to read anything into a possible cancellation.

Adding Gold tickets ? Thought they had sold out weeks ago with restricted numbers !
