Just putting something out there would Kemble be a good choice two runways one of which is paved and one grass both running parallel the same as Duxford. A proven display line and airfield that has proved it can host a large airshow lots of room for parking and a nice long display line. No altitude restrictions either as no airport flight lanes close. ATC and fire cover are already there as well along with a long standing events business. Flying legends have confirmed it will remain in the UK so that's France out of the question
Boscombe Down has a very big runway.. has hosted some very big shows.. and is very quiet compared to even the last time it had a major show.

Kemble - Currently full and still filling up with 747s and other airliners galore, with ramps full of em, scrapped or in the process there of.

North Weald - is within London ATC Zone and as said before on her (P2) they have built the new Air Ambulance and also a big NPAS hangar over the other side that was the flying display line

Boscombe Down - Ask QinetiQ

That's very true, here's the latest log from Kemble (15/10/20) on CA :- https://www.civilianaviation.co.uk/foru ... 04#p115204

Absolutely no chance of Flying Legends happening there!

Completely forgot about that. Yeah no chance unless the scrappers have a lot of coffees.

Too many houses/Villages on the boundaries of Cranfield and Cambridge.

I would like to see Lasham used. Very suitable with long hard runways for display and static. Plus no housing businesses affecting display boxes. Stapleford and Headcorn already have fighter warbird presence, but may not be able to accomodate B-17 etc.

I'm sure there's bound to be a quiet airfield out there where Legends can be staged? How about Sywell in Northants or Elvingdon in North Yorks?

I thought I'd heard there were now extra restrictions introduced at Tollerton after the new Spire Hospital was built on part of the airfield next to the Sherwood Flying Club site! :S

Shawbury...for no other reason than its my closest...does have 2 decent sized hard runways and access isn't too bad.

Have said before Sywell would be a good location. Hard and grass runways, previous experience of hosting airshows and an appreciation of Warbird operations. Others have commented that offsite car parking is limited and there may not be too area left for the public once aircraft parking is taken into account.

Surely the lack of parking means it is not a good location?

Cosford would be a good candidate,
As been said before it could be mixed in with RIAT.
With this covid, other countries may not send aircraft for reasons to bolster the ever dwindling display numbers a 1 hr slot for flying legends is very possible.

Cosford thou in my view. Can hold the crowd numbers easy, central location large museum. Only downside is the Sun.

I have no doubt that Ch. Fenton would be ideal and the last I heard the owners were seeking to attract a display when, after hosting a most successful Yorkshire Airshow in 2015, the organisers went belly up financially. Anyone who attended that show, or the earlier SSAFA shows, would almost certainly agree and the area badly needs another airshow as it has become deprived in that regard.
