Yeovilton Air Day 2022

Post by bruiser » Mon Dec 20, 2021 3:23 pm

Hi,

Has anyone heard anything about an Air day in 2022 taking place? Seems to be very quiet if one is due to take place.

Thanks.

Pretty sure we'll be in lockdown by then to protect the most vulnerable and stop the NHS from being over-run due to the new yetanutha variant.......

Just been confirmed no airshow this year

It is with regret we can confirm, for commercial reasons, that The Royal Navy International Air Day will not take place in 2022. It is hoped the Air Day will be back on as usual in 2023.
Posh are going to Wembley (albeit for a tin cup)

Yes, I've just read this, not bad news entirely so. July 2023 is quite a while away and nobody knows what's coming round the corner at us next, however, all being well and that. Lets remain positive for 2023!

Just saw this.
Shame as i far prefer it to RIAT.
Pyrotechnics allowed, speeds are faster and from a viewing perspective, no overpriced, seating only stands right on display centre blocking the view.

That said, the way things are looking i wouldnt be amazed if most shows get canned this year (or at least substantially cut)

I don't the reason for not having the airshow this year but there are major road works to the A303 nearby, which may cause problems to holiday and airshow traffic

If that's part of the reason then 2023 may not happen either - the Sparkford to Podimore upgrade isn't due for completion till Spring 2024.
