Airday 2017 Arrivals

Post by Malcolm » Thu Jul 06, 2017 7:19 pm

Logged by me today are (and not from any secret squirrel list!):

Thursday 6th
(6065) L-159 Czech AF as "AD572/DU-C" parked north side static
6060 L-159 Czech AF parked eastern end of south side ramp
924(4) JAS-39 Czech AF parked eastern end of south side ramp - last digit of serial obscured
I think support was Cn-295 0454, but that's been and gone (not seen by me but don't need it anyway)

92-3292 C-17A 437AW yellow parked on the end of RWY04

J-3084, 87, 82, 85 plus three, Swiss F-5's of Patr Suisse - all parked south side
Support was pregnant C-12 T-729, which has been and gone departed about 13:40L (only thing I've made today!)

WL419 Meteor Martin Baker - Silver/Orange c/s parked north side static
WA638 Meteor Martin Baker - Black c/s parked north side static

There is also an Austrian civil registered Skyvan parked in the static area. Spam and not needed by me.

Other than that, the static area has the museum F4, SHAR, Sea Vixen, Sea Venom, Sea King, Wessex V. There are NO helicopters on the old Jungly Assault flight line, just one Merlin HC3 (coded Q I think) over by the RNHF hangar.

Cheers
Malcolm

Fantastic, thanks for posting!

Can confirm the Czech C295M was 0454.

Feel free to update the thread tomorrow.

The aircraft put out by the museum for static are XZ574 - Sea King, WW138 - Sea Venom and XT765 - Wessex 5, also the museum Wasp is outside the museum stand amongst the tents(XT778), the F4, Shar and Sea Vixen belong to other VL based organisations

I note Malcolm is showing his seniority again by quoting Hunter serials

It’s not what you look at that matters. It’s what you see.

Oops - knew they didn't look right as I was typing, but couldn't work out why. Now corrected.

Ahh Ok, I meant museum pieces, as in preserved, rather than implying any particular ownership. I saw them towing the Sea Venom from Cobham hall across the main road this morning whilst failing to get a ticket from the museum at 9am (doesn't open till 10 and only naughty boys'n'girls in the carpark and bent ex-coppers at the museum). Elf'n'safety or what? Any chance of dragging the Lynx AH7 over from behind Cobham Hall and into the static? Someone might need it - or do the Pongos say NO? :P

Need both of them, cheers!

I believe N-175 was the NH-90 at Culdrose in 2015.

I see that the USAF c17 here went out on a local sortie today and became the first ever c17 to fly through the mach loop.
