Can’t moan at Yeovilton, they seem to have got the show back on track! Should be a good day!

Yeovilton is always a good show. I just can't make it this year. I am assuming the Spanish Harriers will position over to Fairford for RIAT the following weekend.

Cheers

Be nice if they were different ones but I doubt it, be nice if they taxi & park near near the crowd after their display at yeovilton. One thing I love about yeovilton is seeing the aircraft up close before & after their display routine.

Latest update from the a Yeovilton Enthusiasts facebook today
THE BLACK CATS ARE BACK!

The Royal Navy Black Cats display team is back to represent the resident 825 Naval Air Squadron and Wildcat Maritime Force at the The Royal Navy International Air Day 2019 on 13 July! The team achieved their Public Display Authority (PDA) last week and were presented with their black flying suits.

Confirmed for Air Day's Command Assault Finale are four of Commando Helicopter Force’s Merlin transport helicopters, a pair of Hawk jets and a pair of maritime Wildcats.
It's getting better all the time, it's just a pity that the Apache isn't included in the final assault

That's because the finale is a naval assault not an army one

There has been Apace used in the finale as well as Army Air Corp Wildcats before and there is a large contingent of Army Air Corp stationed at Yeovilton

The Fleet Air Arm museum are wheeling out three of their collection for static display
Sea Hawk FGA6 - Fleet Air Arm Museum (Static)
Wasp HAS1 - Fleet Air Arm Museum (Static)
Sea King HAS5 - Fleet Air Arm Museum (Static)
Plus they will be having their normal stand as well, with lots of interesting bits and pieces.

The 'Army' Wildcats used in the finale aren't Army, they are 847 NAS cabs. 847 use the BRH Wildcat marked as Army

But yes there were Apache in the finale in years gone by

I heard US Navy assigned to CVW-7 but I may of mis-heard as it seemed a long shot!

I am still waiting for the B-2 in Mildenhall and F-35s in Lakenheath :)
