Permission to stand on Malfs/ Buzzers wall.

Post by lmgaylard » Wed Jan 29, 2014 5:57 pm

Hi My Cornish 'lovely's'.

Hope you are all well.

Just wanting to know if the SHARs have been active very much on SFDO?

I'm coming down to CU on the evening of 10th February to interview/ photograph and, hopefully, fly with 736NAS. I'm also hoping to get some 'action' shots on the Dummy Deck while I'm down. I have spoke to the CRO and he is finding out if the DD will be in use.

While down I will also venture around to the viewing area so if you don't mind Malf and buzzer, I may be brave and stand on your wall/bank. :D

Hope to be able to catch up with some of you next month.

Cheers all.
Lewis

Fine by me Lewis :) just be careful getting back down of it....as it's rather wet and slippery this time of year!! :P
Hope your lucky enough to get a flight with the fast boys!! Not the easiest of things to get to do these days I understand?!!
Was only chatting with malf yesterday about getting in touch with the CRO about access airside.

Hope all goes well and you get your Hawk flight, Lewis.
Funnily enough, two Shar's and a T.8 were active today, over on DD.
There's a good chance of meeting up when you're down old boy, be good to see you again. I stop by most days(if it's not henting down) after work, as i have to drive past the enclosure on my way home. Monday to Thursday get there between 11:30-12:30 or 2-3pm on Fridays, Saturday's(if anything is happening!), 13:30ish.
By all means feel free to utilise our wall, the standard rent of a drop of rum will be waived!

Now then, Lewis. It just so happens that your SHar's were active again today. So, i headed over to take a few snaps for you. I hope they are of interest.
Thought you may like this, one of your former, with a future FAA HC.3

Thanks for the permission chaps, much appreciated.

Just to let you know, I should be on the DD on the 11th, in the morning and then, at the moment, 90% certain that I will be flying on the 12th
Just need the base CO to give final permission.

Malf, thanks a lot for taking the time to get some up to date photos......you may well find a bottle JD at the wall if I miss you. :D

Thank you very much, Lewis! All the very best of luck, see you soon!

They are still live & on the books so to speak even if they don't fly. Judging by the exhaust heat a couple of them look as though they are about to lift off.
Thank you, sir, very kind of you to say so. You've inspired to shove a few snaps up,(something of a summary from Culdrose in January)just here.

Thank you, no slope on DD, though, i am afraid.
From Easter on to the end of October, bus tours of the camp are being run. A good opportunity to get up close to the Sea Harriers, if you get the chance.
