Merlin in emergency landing!

Hi all,
Just a quick note to let you all know that a Merlin helicopter from Culdrose today made an emergency landing in a field close to the car park at the Minack Theatre near Porthcurno. Apparently the aircrew noticed a minor fault and decided that it was wise as a precautionary measure to quickly put down into the field.
It was reported that there was no risk to the aircrew or the general public at the time and they were later hoping to get the Merlin returned to Culdrose once the fault had been rectified. It's good to know that it was nothing major and that everything was okay!! --Paul :)

Quite a site would have been when back in the 60s (I think it was) a Dragonfly from Culdrose made a safe emergency landing in a field somewhere in West cornwall only for the crew to evacuate safely, but due to it being on slightly uneven ground it promotional rolled of down across the field! ! :O it ended up crashing through the side of a house that was at the bottom of it!!
Red faces all around I should think ;)
I'll see if I can find some photos of it.

Hi Kyle & buzzer,
Yes. indeed so, - the Merlin has got itself up in the air (and the good old Dragonfly helicopter (which of course of I know of, over Penryn)) --Paul :thumb:
