As of 19;20, a pair of Apaches parked-up on VAS. Scheduled to be operating from CU this week.

Just heard a noise over my house in Cury not sure if this is related. Sounded like a helicopter but I don't have much experience with Apaches so I am unsure of whether this was it.

Just heard it again. Almost certain it's not a Merlin or Sea King due to the sound. Probably found the Apache then. Its times like this when I wish I had a scanner. Oh well, Might as well go to the Viewing Enclosure tomorrow then and have a look:)

Maybe worth a mention. I also noted a Manx-registered C90A King air (M-OTOR) parked-up this AM. A bit of a change from the usual PC-12(M-IFLY).

DaveG wrote:Pete, not sure about the Kingairs, but reviewing my other logs and matching with other peoples there seems to be a 3 hr gap, they arrived in out area approx. 11:00 and are next noted along south coats then aldershot at 14:30/15:00. So if they did not land, where did they go !! Also as extra info, they were first noted entering my box at 20,000ft !

As for the QinetiQ Hawk XX154, looks like it did not stop as times on logs show it going up country soon after it was picked up down here.
r.e King Airs
Just wondered if they were anything do to with this NOTAM ( which is posted most weeks) Although the upper limit is lower than the 20,000 you have noted.

Bit of a long shot , would anyone happen to know the identity of the apache over Falmouth bay at 19:50 this evening (30/5)?
Cheers, Mark

There are now 3 Apaches on C site. One was there when I arrived at the viewing enclosure, one came in as Army Air 439 (I believe) around 1330 and then another appeared, I assume, from a hangar, as it wasn't there the first time I looked! Did the two from last week stop over the weekend?

ZJ207 arrived this afternoon, i believe the pair from last week stayed over.
I managed to snip it's snout off, but the serial can be seen.
