thunderstorms and heavy rain into the weekend,
Cosford will have metal matting down to drive on to the field I understand, how it will cope off the trackway who knows.
Brollies being the order of the day for Sunday.
Met office showing overcast both weekend days with only a 10% chance of rain on either.
The organisers have no worries according to posts on UKAR.

Its also worth noting that in the event of the show being cancelled, for reasons beyond the control of the organisers, ie, the weather. There are no refunds. I remember 2011 when everyone was admitted at the gates, the weather was terrible, the heavy rain never let up. No flying except for 2 Tornadoes who passed at high speed and disappeared over Wales, never to be seen again.

Fingers crossed for Sunday

RAF Hercules added for a flypast..
Flypasts at the show looking decent.
B-52 to do 3 flypasts and not just a single pass.

IMMSC at RIAT a few years back the B52 did a fly past, another aircraft did a display, then the buff came through again. This may have happened a third time, but I've been to bed a few times since then.

'Plan A' is to take-off from Fairford & over-fly Cosford, turning to pass over Skrydstrup in Denmark. Then descending over Cosford for a missed-approach at Reykjavík. Iceland before turning over Newfoundland for a fast-pass over Cosford en-route Fairford for a late bath!
Punters at Cosford are urged to take a blanket & torch for the 3rd pass & warned that it will only carry-out the third pass if suicide numbers at the Air-show are acceptably low? :O

Wasn't it the Vulcan that took off and displayed before the B52 returned? I seem to remember the B52 overflying the Vulcan on the 24 threshold.

Going down to Cosford shortly for more arrivals, yesterday was quite nice with the Typhoon and Belgian 109 entertaining us :thumb:

I think you may be right. Somewhere I've got a pic of XH558 on the ground and a couple of Buffs on the way in.

As far as I know there's never been 2 B52s in a RIAT flying display, both the Vulcan and a B52 were airborne at the same time in 2010 though.
This season, I'll be mostly wearing........A THONG!

A400 M No show.

Sad to say it was not a great show this year :(

The A400 did show..albeit earlier than the scheduled start to the flying display. It certainly crept up on us and I only just caught it myself.

The B-52 showed up too. Just that unless you were looking in the right place at the right time, you wouldn't have seen it. I think it was out of cloud for half a second.

Well that was a lot of :grr: use. I thought i'd heard it fly over. Must have been a 'stealth' move.

Cheers for the info.

To be fair you didn't miss a great deal! Just one level pass never to be seen again.
